Trauma and Disease
Explore the connection between trauma, mental health, and physical disease, using astrology and chakras for holistic healing insights.
The author discusses the connection between trauma, mental health, and physical disease, emphasizing that both idiopathic and psychosomatic explanations hold truth. Drawing from Eastern medicine and astrology, the piece encourages exploring the psychological roots of ailments by analyzing zodiac signs and chakras to empower individuals facing dismissive medical narratives.
“Western Doctors are the Most Stupidest Educated People Around”
Celestia Quixs
Why would I say this? Because, they take all of their education and allow that to be an excuse to stop short in understanding the dis-eases they treat.
If they don’t understand the cause, they’ll say it’s either idiopathic (I don’t know the cause of the disease) or psychosomatic (your mind is manifesting a disease in your body or “It’s all in your head”).
Allow me to blow your mind…BOTH are true!
Traditional Eastern Medicine has known this for millennia. Westerners are just now acknowledging the mind-body connection. Take the book by Bessel van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score, for instance.
In his book, he relates how unprocessed trauma, both acute and chronic, manifests in the body from symptoms to full-blown diseases. And, how trauma-focused healing can result in, what seems like, miraculous healing of physical disease.
Psychology is an art with roots in various philosophy-based ‘sciences’. Two of these are Astrology and Cosmology.
Oh, I hear you now…Astrology as a root of Psychology? What kind of woo-woo nonsense is that?
Astrology is much more than the Western-bastardization of Zodiac signs, birth charts, and newspaper horoscopes.
Within Eastern Astrology and Cosmology is the ‘science’ of Psychosomatics.
In Psychosomatics, each Zodiacal sign has aspects and characteristics of human behavioral traits. AND, each human bodily system correlates with a Zodiacal sign. Incorporate that with the Eastern metaphysical system of Qi (fundamental life force or energy) and Chakras (centers of vital energy) and one can easily deduce the psychological cause of a physical manifestation of disease; sometimes, without even knowing a person’s life history!
I will use myself as an example of how this can possibly be.
Why am I writing about this? Because, if doctors don’t know what’s causing your disease, they can only mask symptoms. AND, I’d like to give power back to anyone who’s been told, “It’s all in your head.”
My biggest health issues are currently pneumonia caused by Fusarium (a mult-treatment resistant, pathogenic fungus) and Lymphedema (a disorder of the immune system which causes a backup of toxins in the lymphatic system resulting in edema or ‘water-retention’ in the extremities and, in advanced cases, even in the abdominal organs and the brain).
The body parts involved are the lungs, ruled by Gemini, and the lymphatic system, ruled by Pisces. If we look at the Planetary rulers of these Zodiacal signs, we see that Mercury, ruler of the mental and linguistic (communication) functions of the body, rules over Gemini. And, until the discovery of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, Pisces was Traditionally ruled by Jupiter, the ruler of the arteries, veins, blood and phlegm production. Jupiter-energy instills a strong desire for the pursuit of knowledge and truth, meaning and purpose.
Looking at the Chakras corresponding to these body parts and functions, we see that the lungs are governed by the Heart Chakra and, the lymphatic system, by the same.
Blockage in the Heart Chakra can manifest in the following ways:
Physical
- Heart Issues
- Lung Problems
- Poor Circulation
- Chest Pain
- Respiratory Issues
Emotional
- Lack of Empathy
- Inability to Set Boundaries
- Unhealthy Relationships
- Inability to Forgive
- Anger and Trust Issues
Spiritual
- Isolation and Loneliness
- Feeling Disconnected from the Universe
- Feeling Empty
- Depression
Delving deeper, we can look at the Astrological Houses (symbolic of the departments that make up human life) ruled by each planet and sign.
Gemini and Mercury rule the 3rd House–the department of local movement, short journeys, communication, school, siblings. Pisces and Jupiter rule the 12th House—the department of hidden matters, the unconscious, clandestine relationships, secret enemies, seclusion.
If we’d like, we can add in the characteristics of Neptune to Pisces; because, Pisces was assigned to Neptune, after it’s discovery. If we do this, we see Neptune exerts influence over the glandular system. Further, if we look at the sign and house currently governed by Jupiter, we find that includes Sagittarius–sciatic nerve, hips, thighs and lower liver, and the 9th House—the department of travel, higher education, religion, spirituality, law.
With all of these puzzle-pieces, it’s easy to see this human has lung and lymphatic dis-ease with signs and symptoms of issues in the following areas:
Communication
Pursuit of knowledge and truth
Empathy
Boundaries
Unhealthy Relationships
Forgiveness
Anger
Trust
Isolation and Loneliness
Meaning and Purpose
Emptiness
Depression
The root causes found in the governing Houses include:
Restriction of movement
Communication issues
School/education-related issues
Sibling relationships
Keeping Secrets
Enemies
Seclusion
Religious issues
Spiritual Issues
Legal issues
Condense these last two groupings and it is plain to see, this human suffered a traumatic childhood, and possibly ongoing trauma, related to being singled-out from the rest of the family, likely as scapegoat. This child was the family truth-teller, who was told to keep secrets. In a dysfunctional family dynamic, this child was restricted, isolated, secluded, leading to depression, anger, resentment, and trust issues. In order to find meaning and purpose (or acceptance and love) within this toxic environment, this child excelled in school and developed a strong sense of morals and values. This became off-putting to the siblings, turning them into enemies with a lack of empathy toward the scapegoated child.
If this child grew into an adult who never received the appropriate emotional support and psychological healing, this set of circumstances, likely, repeated in every relationship this adult had, resulting in the physical manifestation of the following:
- Heart Issues
- Lung Problems
- Poor Circulation
- Chest Pain
- Respiratory Issues
- Glandular Issues
- Sciatic Nerve Issues
- Sacroiliac Issues
- Liver Issues
- Lymphatic Issues
Imagine that. This is a snapshot of my current mental and medical health diagnoses and symptoms written into my medical records by medical and mental health practitioners. And, since those practitioners only want to mask the manifestations instead of fixing the underlying cause, it is incumbent upon me, if I want to heal, to address the root causes and take my power back!
If you’re experiencing any form of medical dismissiveness or gaslighting, give this exercise in Psychosomatics a try:
- What are your current most dominant health issues?
- What body parts dominate those issues?
- What Zodiacal sign rules those body parts?
- What Planets rule those body parts and Zodiacal signs?
- What Houses are these planets and Zodiacal signs assigned to?
- Which Chakras rule these body parts and health issues?
- Pull together all of the traits and characteristics of the specific Zodiacal signs and Planets.
- Pull together the departments of life the specific Houses govern.
- Pull together the issues the specific Chakra blockages cause.
- Compile all elements of 7-9 into your personal Psychosomatic report.
While not a replacement for medical advice, it is a great experiment to prove to yourself that there’s more to your symptoms and diagnoses than just being “all in your head”.
