When Others Need You to Stay Unwell

The reason I have had to keep “getting back to” my healing protocol is because I have been living with someone who seems to fear the possibility of me getting healthy…if I get healthy, I would no longer ‘need’ him and I might leave. He is the one who, over the past 2 years, has been derailing my healing protocol by picking unnecessary fights while I have been severely depressed, causing me to want to give up.

Seriously, I have been suicidal since I was 14 years old with 4 attempts between the ages of 14 and 60. Alarmingly, between the ages of 60 and 62, I have had TWICE that–one landing me in a Legal Hold! The common denominator–betrayal by my live-in caregiver through emotional and financial abuse culminating in a close call with physical abuse that almost got him arrested. THIS incident was my ‘wake-up call’.

His fear of me leaving has caused exactly that. I am far from being well; but, I realized that, by staying with him and hoping he will step the fuck up and be dependable, I will NEVER get well. So, I left.

It will definitely be a struggle caring for myself and getting things done with the chronic pain and mobility issues. However, I’ve always been able to depend upon myself before shit began to go down the tubes five years ago. I had always been self-responsible, self-reliant, self-sufficient, and resilient. There is no difference now; except, it will be harder. Fortunately, I’ve never been afraid of hard work.

I refuse to be denied health by anyone or anything!

So, here is my new healing protocol, with a focus on repairing my immune system, using Dr John Bergman D.C.‘s 5-prong protocol. This is what I’ve chosen for each of the prongs for the next 40 days:

1. Sleep–shutting down all ‘screens’ 30 minutes before bed and writing in my journal the things I have appreciation for. (I hate the word ‘gratitude’. It’s a selfish LOA word…a one word gratuity used by those with an entitlement mindset–“Thank you, give me more”. Appreciation, on the other hand, is the phenomenon of increasing the perceived value of what you already have…opposite of depreciation.)

2. Diet–eating more prebiotic foods to support the refrigerated probiotics I will be taking after having finished the SIXTH round of antibiotics I have been prescribed in the past 12 months.

3. Movement–20 minute daily air compression leg massage followed by 15 minutes of leg elevation with a PT wedge.

4. Nervous system–15 minute daily Vagus nerve stimulation with TENS unit and tragus clip: https://youtu.be/5ba5zyMo9VY?si=crcmO7ThClyXb6oV

5. Meditation–Daily Isochronic Tone immersion with headphones of Lymphatic System Blockage Removal Meditation Music: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4MGJaczVHp3HWpCuf2Q66o?si=20298bc096f4444d

Again, starting small to avoid failure and promote success by slowly building healthy habits over 40-day periods.
